Worth the price of admission: hints of clove, bubble gum, pear and banana. Body is crisp and effervescent. This beer is brewed with 55% malted wheat and 45% malted barley. Naturally carbonated. SPICY RYE BEER WITH A HUGE HOP AROMA and flavor accompanied by a sweet, malty finish. Brewed by our neighbors to the north in Healdsburg, Hop Rod Rye is a dark reddish brown with a complex, forthright head. This rye is creamy and luscious, like a lover you can’t give up. It’s got citrus, grapefruit, orange, pine, some faint earthy smells on the nose. Massive citrus and pine upon the first taste. A tangy sweet maltiness in the middle, with more citrus and caramel. Finishes with a slight spicy earthiness from the rye malt.

OLD 38 IS NAMED FOR A RETIRED CALIFORNIA WESTERN RAILROAD steam engine on the Fort Bragg to Willits run through the Redwoods. This stout is a smooth, firm-bodied stout with the toasted character with chocolatey and coffee notes of dark malts and roasted barley. It’s pitch black color sits under a mocha brown head. Smells of spice and molasses. Medium bodied, it is a nice quaffable stout, much in line with Dublin-style stout, withs its characteristic dry and slightly chalky finish.

Straw pale color with a cloudiness from the wheat. Creamy in texture, though light bodied. Clean flavor with hints of coriander and orange peel. Sweet and wellrounded, with a hint of faint bitterness in the middle. Finishes well without leaving an aftertaste; cleanses the palate. Another great wheat beer for summer.

COPPER, CRYSTAL-CLEAR IN APPEARANCE with a foamy, slightly off-white head and a good amount of lacing. A shy caramel malt aroma at first, followed by a big fruity whack to balance the citrus-tude and pine-a-tude from the hops. Bolder sweet malty flavor throughout, followed by a bitter hop finish. The flavors of citrus and pine cling nicely to your palate. Refreshingly medium-bodied and carbonated. Very good example of an American IPA. Eminently drinkable.

THIS IS A CASE OF LIFE IMM ITATING ART. Belgian craftbrewers emulating California-style hoppy beers with all the grace and technique of the Belgian brewing tradition and fine Belgian ingredients. Oddball perhaps, but an amazing marriage of English IPAs and American Imperial IPAs. La Chouffe, or Gnome is a fun-loving creature, but beware, it’s smoothness belies it’s strength: 9% alcohol. Golden, sweet and hoppy. Nuanced and incredibly delicate, smooth and creamy. The noble Saaz hops finish nicely.

Moonlight Brewing Twist of Fate ABV 5.6%
English-style Bitter Ale

This English -style bitter ale is light in body, dark in color with great clarity. Nice tan head with good lacing. Aroma of dark crystal malt, fruity esters, and strong green apple notes. Flavors of dark brown sugar and yeast. Fruity citrus with a good level of hop bitterness in the finish with some spicy hoppiness as well. And a slight green apple flavor in background. Between dark malts and hops, beer is fairly bitter overall but with enough maltiness to pairwell with food. Moderately low carbonation and great drinkability makes this a great session beer.
